[OoC ~ This thread is open for anyone to join. I'm a fairly new roleplayer, so please correct any mistakes that I might make. I will not be offended. My story arc with Liam is to make some local friends. In this particular thread his goal is to take money from unsuspecting casino goers, maybe catch a cheater in the act, and ending the night at the bar... so nothing new for him, lol. I'm open to more ideas being added to the story as it goes along and would welcome anyone to join and we can see where the RP takes us]
The constant wave of a mass of voices, poker chips clashing against one another, and the chiming of dozens of slot machines filled the air in the Pale Rose casino. Hundreds of guiltless patrons wondered about aimlessly, discovering different ways in which they could lose their money. The casino itself was extravagant. The crimson, gold patterned carpet floors stretched from end to end, white-pillared walls expanded upward into a massive skylight a couple of dozen feet high. The balcony area that made up the second floor of the casino wrapped around the entire building with a set of elaborate stairs at both ends of the casino leading up to the top.
The bottom floor was lined with poker tables, craps tables surrounded by well-known patrons and their lackeys, for lack of a better term, and roulette tables where, yet again, careless big spenders bet their night away. Off to one side of the casino, there were a handful of white-cloth-covered tables with elegant white-wood chairs surrounding them. Only a couple of people sat here, it was more of a sitting area for those not currently partaking in the games the casino had to offer.
One of these people, a tall, dark-haired, brown eyes man sat staring into the crowd of people as they excitedly gambled to their heart's content. He sat, one arm resting on the table before him. He was wearing a black three-piece suit, a maroon tie hanging from beneath the wing tip collar. He was adjusting the cuff of one of his sleeves as he maintained eye contact with the patrons on the floor. A half-empty glass of whiskey sat on the table before him, an ice cube inside. Irish whiskey on the rocks never fails to get the job done, and one of his go-to's.
After he'd finished adjusting his cuff, he leaned forward, grabbing the glass and bringing it to his lips. He briskly downed the rest of the glass as he stood up, adjusted his jacket, and gave a wave in the direction of a camera above. He was on duty, believe it or not, to sniff out any shady figures in the casino, and to take money from unsuspecting patrons at his own leisure. He'd become acquainted with the casino staff over the years, even becoming close friends with the owner. He even became a certified casino employee. In a not-so-official capacity, that is. He'd made a deal with the casino that he'd help keep the cheaters at bay, make them more money, and in turn, he'd receive the utmost leniency the casino could offer. Oh, and of course, never-ending free drinks.
At this point, he'd decided it was time to actually do some work. Upon scouting the poker tables for a while, he spotted one that was nearly full, with only two remaining spots open. 4 other patrons sat there, he hadn't bothered getting a read on them yet as his intention was to take their money, nothing more, nothing less. He sat at the table, pulling a stack of money from his inner suit pocket and placing it on the table. The dealer was aware of his status and quickly placed the appropriate amount of chips in front of him.
"You lot don't mind if I join in, do you?" he said as he waited for the dealer to hand him the chips. Of course, it didn't matter to him whether or not they wanted him to join, as he had every intention to do so regardless. "What are the blinds?" he said as the dealer began passing around cards to the other players at the table. He still hadn't looked up from the chips in front of him as he arrogantly began stacking and counting chips as they were placed in front of him.
